The workshops will allow you to relax in the serene atmosphere of East Perthshire’s diverse landscapes and draw upon your individual creativity to enhance how we experience being outside. Drawing while walking means we move more slowly and closely examine what we see, it gives us a new and complex understanding of the world around us.

Dr Aileen M Stackhouse is a trained sculptor who uses drawing to explore how she sees the world around us. See Aileen’s website for more details of her career and qualifications.

Places: Half day workshops will begin from Blairgowrie and explore the parts of the Cateran Trail (http://www.walkthecaterantrail.com) which are near the town centre. Longer workshops will begin from one of the route sections in the beautiful surroundings of East Perthshire.

Own transport required. Detailed directions to locations will be given on booking.

At the start of the workshop we will talk through what we expect from the day. There will be a short demonstration of materials and techniques from Aileen before we set off to walk and explore until lunch at 12.30. After lunch we will each take time to choose a place where we want to spend a longer time to look and draw. At 4pm we will gather together and exchange our thoughts and ideas about our awareness of the world.
