Introduction
Strathardle Lodge Guest House and Cake School in Kirkmichael, is an ideal getaway or stop over for hikers, skiers or cyclists.
With it’s beautiful setting amongst large trees and with the river Ardle by its side, it epitomises rural Perthshire. It’s a great stop over for anyone walking the Cateran trail, with guests always at the centre of the Lodge experience. With a beautiful guest lounge and the former public bar now a guests only licensed Honesty Bar, there are lots of extras to make the stay more enjoyable. The Honesty bar has a good selection of drinks, crisps, chocolate bars, ice creams and microwave meals.
If you have any energy left at the end of the day then there is a small gym for guests only.
Strathardle Lodge hosts regular listed or private cake classes taught by Paul Bradford who holds the esteemed Disciples De Escoffier award.
Paul has made cakes for the Queen, Prince Charles and Price Albert of Monaco. He has taught all over the world, but wanted to settle down in this most beautiful part of Scotland. Students come from all over the world to learn with Paul, who has a knack of making cake decorating easy to learn and enuring that laughter and enjoyment are part of the learning experience.
