No matter your age or fitness level, there’s a walking route to suit you in east Perthshire. We have everything from sheltered forest walks and riverside strolls to more demanding high-level walking on the Grampian plateau.

The Snow Roads scenic route is a 90-mile journey which starts in Blairgowrie in the heart of Perthshire.
Launched in 2018, the route follows the highest public road in Britain through dramatic landscapes first forged in the last Ice Age some 10,000 years ago.

The River Tay and its tributaries, including the Isla and the Ericht in this part of Perthshire, are among the best salmon and trout rivers in Europe. They have the greatest flow of any river in Britain and, as recently as 1989, over 15,000-rod catches of salmon were recorded in one season.
